Rotorua / Looking for that little something uniquely New Zealand with flavour that screams to your palate ‘welcome’, then Rotorua has the food experiences for you. In Rotorua master chefs marry the style and sophistication of Europe with locally sourced products and the flavours of the Maori culture. Lake Taupo / The Lake Taupo region is famous for its diverse selection of restaurants, cafés, suburban delis and food markets. The local influence of eating in a relaxed atmosphere, surrounded by the beauty of the landscape has inspired the restaurants and cafés to provide a wonderful selection of eating places, with great food and excellent service. And did you know you can’t buy trout in Taupo! But take your catch into many of our local restaurants and they will cook it for you! Ruapehu / Ruapehu has a great range of cafés and restaurants serving everything from warm hearty soups, delicious muffins and cakes, juicy kiwi steaks and lamb chops, tender venison, South Island salmon, to every New Zealander’s favourite meal, “fish and chips”. Products available in the Ruapehu region: Bayview Chateau Tongariro, Powderhorn Chateau.  

Hawke’s Bay / Thanks to a Mediterranean climate and fertile land, Hawke’s Bay delivers the finest, freshest flavours to tempt your taste buds throughout the changing seasons. With over 70 vineyards and many cellar doors, you can sample the variety of award winning wines available from New Zealand’s oldest winegrowing region. The weekly Farmers’Markets allow you to meet the producers and taste everything from fine wines and artisan food products to delicious organic produce and meats. While the many cafés and restaurants in the region pull together the best local food and wine with great service and fantastic settings for you to enjoy. The Bay of Plenty / The Bay of Plenty was named for its plentiful ‘fruit bowl’properties and its fertile soils and warm climate are ideal for growing just about any type of produce, including the iconic kiwifruit, avocadoes and citrus fruits. Seafood is also plentiful, and local islands are hotspots for catching crayfish and other sea delicacies.  The fresh local ingredients and local seafood are creatively prepared and served in seaside cafés, award-winning wineries and top-end restaurants. Products available in the Bay of Plenty: Mount Bistro (Restaurant), Mills Reef Winery (under restaurants).  

The Coromandel Peninsula / The Coromandel Peninsula is surrounded by water, so fresh seafood is a must-have when visiting. Be adventurous and ask locals where the best spots for collecting shellfish are, otherwise relax with a glass of wine and enjoy what the Coromandel chef’s have to offer. Products available in The Coromandel: Whitianga Scallop Festival (held in August), Cathedral Cove Macadamias. Wine and dine at: Koru at Rapaura, Miha at Grand Mecure, Puka Park, Pepper Tree Restaurant, Salt Restaurant.
